In many cases, lymph nodes connected to tumor drainage are examined and removed to eliminate any potential invasion, preventing further tumor development.

Risks increase when surgical interventions involve multiple tissues, as longer anesthesia times and compromise of various tissue types may be required to ensure complete cancer removal.

Chemotherapy

It is recommended before and after surgery or as an alternative to surgery. Chemotherapy destroys malignant cells, interferes with DNA to inhibit cell reproduction, and targets rapidly dividing cancer cells more than healthy cells.
Chemotherapy achieves cancer remission in many cases, with survival rates typically measured over 5 to 10 years.
Chemotherapy treatment carries a high risk of damaging healthy cells, resulting in various consequences depending on the drugs used.
Commonly experienced side effects include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, hair loss, immune system suppression leading to increased vulnerability to infections, and other effects that typically subside after treatment completion.
Chronic consequences such as immune and hormonal system damage, increased risk of secondary cancers, neurological impairments leading to paralysis or chronic pain, or organ dysfunction may occur.
Adjuvant chemotherapy and hormone-based therapies reduce estrogen or progesterone production or their effects at the DNA level, decreasing the number of malignant cells.
Targeted therapies, such as antibodies mimicking our own immune system’s antibodies or medications like Trastuzumab (Herceptin) used to block the growth or reproduction of cancer cells in Her2 positive patients, aim to reduce micrometastasis and lower the risk of recurrence, ultimately increasing survival. However, Trastuzumab carries a risk of heart disease.

Radiotherapy
Radiotherapy employs high-energy rays emitted by a machine or radioactive substances placed near or within tumors to destroy cancer cells. It can be administered before or after surgery or instead of surgical intervention. In some cases, it serves as the sole option for managing pain when other treatments have been ineffective.

Survival rates are typically measured over 5 to 10 years or less.

Vitamin C Megadose Treatments
Intravenous vitamin C treatments involve administering high doses that generate hydrogen peroxide, which selectively attacks and destroys malignant cells without harming healthy ones. Vitamin C megadoses also reduce the risk of metastasis by inhibiting the activity of lysyl oxidase and hyaluronidase enzymes.
Rare side effects of this treatment include skin sensitivity at the injection site, headaches, nausea, fatigue (lasting a few hours), and temporary generalized chills (2 to 5 hours) that disappear afterward. In very rare cases, extravasation of the serum may cause tissue necrosis around the application site.
Vitamin C megadoses should not be applied to patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, congestive heart failure, hemochromatosis, or psychiatric illness. Patients with uncontrolled renal failure should receive supervision from a nephrologist or internist.
This treatment can be used before and after surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy to improve survival rates and reduce side effects. It can also be considered as an alternative to traditional treatments if the patient prefers not to undergo them.
